Public Garden of Western Limassol getting ready


The Municipality of Limassol aspires to create the Public Garden of Western Limassol in Zakaki. The plot that will host the Garden is of a total area of 10.000m2 and is located on Paul Gauguin street (Mall area). The aforementioned was announced by the Mayor of Limassol, Nicos Nicolaides, who stated that the works in the specific park, which will be accessible to all and friendly to persons with disabilities, are expected to start within the new year and its construction cost is estimated to reach €600,000. The Mayor also expressed his satisfaction because a number of decisions to upgrade Western Limassol in the near future have begun to be implemented or are in advanced planning. “Areas and neighbourhoods that have been neglected for years, especially those of Western Limassol, will acquire in the near future a new face following the implementation of projects and services that will upgrade the living standards of citizens”, he said.

In the meantime, the public presentation of the study for the park on Paul Gauguin Street took place on Wednesday in the presence of the Mayor, Nicos Nicolaides. The park was designed in collaboration with the architect Alexandros Christofinis (ANBAU office), the architect Stelios Lakkotrypis and the Visual Artist Maria Lianou.
