Blue Limassol Forum 2020 - Sustainable Coastal, Marine & Maritime Environment

Blue Limassol Forum is an annual event, established in 2020 by the Mayor of Limassol, Mr Nicos Nicolaides. The Forum seeks to bring to the fore key issues and developments that relate to the maritime industry through Limassol’s character as a leading port-city in the region, as well as promote matirime culture to local citizens.

This year’s Forum will focus on topics relevant to “Sustainable Coastal, Marine & Maritime Environment”. Invited speakers and participants will discuss initiatives already in place and share examples of good practice to stimulate further dialogue and action demonstrating collaborative environmental leadership and promoting wellbeing in Limassol, a leading Blue City.

The event is jointly organized by Limassol Municipality and Frederick University Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce and is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades.

The event’s keynote speakers and panelists are: Ms Klelia Vasiliou, Environment Commissioner, Mr Prabhat Jha, Group Managing Director, MSC Shipmanagement Limited, Mr Andreas Alvanis, Business Development Executive, Fameline Holding Group, Mr Alexander Alexandrov, Deputy Director-General, Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.), Ms Gina Cohen, Independent Gas Consultant, Author, Lecturer, Technion University, Tel Aviv, Israel, Dr Demetris Kletou, Lecturer, Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce, Frederick University, Dr Angelos Menelaou, Head, Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce, Frederick University, Project Manager, Marlow Navigation Co. Ltd, Mr Ioannis Efstratiou, Head of Marine Environment Unit, Shipping Deputy Ministry, and Mr Panayiotis Agathocleous, Limassol Port Manager, Cyprus Ports Authority.

Welcome addresses will be made by Mr Nicos Nicolaides, Mayor of Limassol, Ms Natasa Pilides, Deputy Minister of Shipping, Republic of Cyprus, and Dr Christoforos Charalambous, Vice-President of Frederick University Council.
