The area is crossed and intersected:
- with the road that connects the coastal avenue with the Franklin Roosevelt Street, and
- from the riverbed of River Garillis, which to a large part, is bridged from the road sideways
- In the south, the region appears to be empty.
- In the future, a parking place will be created, while in the same area a Conference Centre is being planned.
The areas of operation and the future road network of the region.
- 1. The western plateau
- 2. The main square between the two worship places
- 3. The eastern expansion of the central square, and
- 4. The eastern plateau
The Western Plateau
Is inserted between:
The existing, indifferent morphological and/or underdeveloped buildings on the north side, part of which is used by the owners of the buildings.
On the south of the existing public road and further south different kind of structures and open spaces.
The south side will border with the area where the Conference Centre of Limassol is estimated to be built.
The Central Square
Jedid Mosque is characterised by the fact that it is built on the banks of the river (Dere Mosque).
The outer walls are adapted to the banks.
The area has characteristic vegetation.
The banks of the river continues north and meets with the bridge.
The bridge appears to retain the old structure, which existed during British Rule, and was later widened.
The riverbed continues southeast and crosses sideways the existing asphalt road.
Agios Antonios church stands southeast of the central square and maintains a comparatively natural vegetation.
It should be noted that the area is generally characterised by an orient vegetation and fruit trees. To the north and the northeast, beyond the vegetation and the degraded build environment, the landscape appears to be rather irrelevant.
The eastern extension of the central square
The church of Agios Antonios is surrounded by roads with height differences.
It is partially occupied by an existing engine-shed, and its exit from the road that crosses the area.
Along the river bed, there are interesting constructions, as far as it concerns the walls.
On the north part, there are irrelevant to undervalued buildings, for which access needs to be granted.
The Eastern Plateau
The eastern plateau is constituted mainly by the existing road and the small plateau on the north side,
which is in contact with the buildings and part of which is used by the owners of the premises.
