CASTLE AREA AND HISTORIC CENTRE

Genethliou Mitella street & Jami street
Starting at Limassol Castle, considered the oldest core of the town, one can take two routes:

1. To the east, into the town or
2. South, to the old harbor area and
   colonial pier

ROUTE 2
THE WATERFRONT

From Agios Antonios church, turn left towards the old harbor.  To the east of the church, on the corner, is an ouzo distillery, housed in a converted hammam.  Visit the inside and see the spotless copper cauldrons housed in the former soyunmalik.

ROUTE 3
COLONIAL RESIDENCES

The dwellings of Eirenes street set solidly in stone against the narrow street, display austere facades with usually few ornaments save for their balconies.  The somewhat severe fronts of the houses, however, serve to shield their inner life, set around large closed courtyards and fruit orchards.
