Lambros Lambrou
Internationally acclaimed teacher
and choreographer Lambros Lambrou
received his training at the Arts
Educational and Royal Ballet Schools in
London, before embarking on his career
as a dancer in Canada.
His ballets have been staged
throughout Canada and the US as well as
Cuba, Iceland, China, Malaysia, Australia
and Europe.
He founded the Alberta Ballet
Professional Programme in Edmonton,
Canada and later was Artistic Director
of Ballet Austin for ten years. For his
achievement in Dance and Culture, Mr.
Lambrou has received several Awards
and Distinctions from the US, Canadian
and Cuban Governments.
Mr. Lambrou has contributed to his
native Cyprus for over thirty years.
He staged the first ever full length
Nutcracker in 1989. He organised several
annual Summer Schools bringing
international exposure to the island
through guest dancers and teachers
from abroad.
He presented his new choreography
"Renaissance" to the Cypriot and Serbian
public. He was invited to re stage
his ballet "Odysseus" for the cultural
celebrations marking Cyprus' Accession
into the European Union, in 2005. |
